Mono Mixes On CD For The First Time

For the first time ever the original mono mixes for all of The Beatles albums (which were originally mixed in mono, of course) are being released on CD! All 10 of the Beatles studio albums which were originally mixed in mono are included in the Beatles Mono Box Set which is being released on 9/9/9. While it's not actually for sale yet, it is available for pre-order on Amazon now.

Limited Edition: 10,000

One bit of information about this box set which may jump out to you is this: "Limited edition and numbered (10,000)"

Does this mean that there will only be 10,000 copies of this box set made? Or only 10,000 made (and numbered) for this initial pressing. I haven't been able to find any additional information about that which is part of the reason I think it's so important for serious Beatles fanatics to order the mono box set as soon as possible (just in case only 10,000 copies are made!) Mono Was The Standard In The 1960s

These original mono mixes are deemed so important by Beatles fans because they are the mixes that The Beatles, George Martin, & Geoff Emerick worked so hard on getting just right at the time! Mono was the standard at the time, it was what was considered really important. In comparison the stereo mixes were mere afterthoughts and not a lot of time was spent on them.

The Mono Mixes Are Superior

Many people who have heard both the mono and stereo mixes of The Beatles albums such as Rubber Soul, Revolver, and Sgt. Pepper claim that the mono mixes are superior. Now with this new mono CD box set, it will finally be easy for Beatles fans to hear these original mono mixes for themselves!

Prior to this release one would have had to hunt down old original mono mixes on vinyl in order to hear these mono mixes. These are difficult to find and very expensive when found. And of course someone would have to have a record player to play them (which most people don't in the 21st century, although vinyl is experiencing some rebound in popularity.)
